A Protection Sachet for the Door
The herbal cousin of the salt line, and a good introduction to working with plants: everything in it is a kitchen ingredient, nothing is eaten, and the whole thing takes ten minutes.

Lay the cloth flat and put the rosemary, the bay leaf and the salt in the centre of it.

Gather the corners and tie them with the thread. Three knots is traditional; one is sufficient.

Hang it near the door you use most, high enough not to be knocked.

Replace it when the herbs lose their scent — usually a few months. The old one can go on the compost.
Variations & notes
Rosemary is the traditional substitute for almost any herb you lack, so a sachet of rosemary alone is entirely defensible. Keep it dry, and replace it when it stops smelling of anything.
Harm none. This is offered, not prescribed. Take what serves you, change what doesn't, and stop at any point it asks more of you than you want to give.
